a little bit more about what to expect
Our Counsellors are fully qualified and registered with the Australian Counselling Association. Your comfort is important to us. We know that seeking support can sometimes feel intimidating and therefore aim to offer a friendly, non-judgmental environment that recognises the strengths, wisdom and knowledge of each person.
If you’re currently in a relationship, you can attend relationship counselling alone or with your partner. We also offer individual counselling for relationships. This can include reflecting on starting a new relationship or understanding past relationships and how they impact on the present.
Appointments are for one hour, although some session may take up to an hour and twenty minutes. It is important to us that your session comes to a natural close, rather than cutting you short at an important moment. The need for ongoing sessions is dependant on your situation. While some issues can be resolved in a few sessions, others take longer. Yarra Valley Counselling is open by appointment on weekdays, weekends, early morning and evenings. Please note, a GP referral is not required to use of this service.
